What's in Lawrenny?
Lawrenny Arms
The first place you'll come to in Lawrenny is Lawrenny Arms. This pub serves lovely food or you can just have a drink in the beer garden. The main appeal of this place is that it has a boardwalk into the water that you're allowed to walk on if you're having a drink in the pub. An added bonus at the moment (COVID days) is that it has a marquee outside in case it rains and you can't sit inside!
Lawrenny Tea Rooms
This is our favourite part of Lawrenny. If you carry on past the Lawrenny Arms, you'll eventually come to the end of the road and to Lawrenny Tea Rooms. I often feel like I'm driving into to private property when I go down here, but you definitely are allowed there! Along this road there's a wide stretch of grass with picnic benches overlooking the water and at the end of the road is a very pebbled beach (great for any stone throwing lovers!) The Quayside Tea Rooms are WELL worth a visit and the food we've had here has been beautiful every time we've visited. Everything is home made and well presented and the staff are always very friendly. They also have a great selection of cakes and hot drinks for a colder day!
Things to Consider
I've always found Lawrenny to be quite windy, which is great on a boiling day and you're looking for somewhere with a breeze, but you'll need to wrap up warm on a cold day if you're sitting outside. This isn't a beach you'd want to go paddling on or to sunbathe as it's very pebbly. There's no charge for parking here and there's a flat path to push a pram or wheelchair from the tearooms to the pub (Cooper did the very short journey on his balance bike!) Lawrenny is a bit of a hidden gem in my opinion and is fast becoming one of my favourite places to visit as it's only 15 minutes from our caravan in Templeton.
